PiCobbler

Here's a great post about the Adafruit Pi T-Cobbler from Meltwater's Raspberry Pi Hardware:

The Pi T-Cobbler is supplied in 4 parts (plus a ribbon cable to connect it to the Raspberry Pi) which require soldering together; the PCB, the 26 pin IDC header and two 13 pin connectors .

Soldering the item is quite simple.

  • Fit the pin headers first, so that you can hold them flat on the desk while you solder.
  • It is helpful to solder one pin on each end and then check that everything is flat, level and nicely aligned).
  • Check carefully for any joints which have too little solder, or any which may have too much joining pins together.

There are lots of pins to solder, but it is great soldering practise since it is only plastic which will melt if you over heat it (rather than the risk of damaging components).  Just take a little bit of care since it can be a little small and fiddly to hold, and the pins will stay hot.

Re: combine elements from two sketches

You have started to tidy up the code as well as using the encoder to fool the program into thinking that buttons have been pressed which has confused things somewhat.

In post 5 I suggested setting the value of LastButtonPushed to buttonPinRight or butt...

Ich finde Dein Projekt ja super interessant, sei´s vom technischen, als auch vom softwaremäßigen Standpunkt aus.
Aber das ist auch mit einigem Aufwand verbunden!

Re: Infrared Reflectance Sensor

Reflectance sensors are finicky things. Try to bend the LEDs / phototransistors a bit so they point towards each other (imagine the light bouncing off the surface between the LED / phototransistor). Play around with the distance to your target and what...

How to program 16-bit pwms in the different Arduino boards ?

Hello,

I currently have an Arduino Mega board and one of my needs is to produce PWM signal at high frequency (for example 30khz), and if possible with 12bits or 16bits resolution. I also plan to buy an Arduino Due to be able to do this and to have mor...

i have been thinking about it

whats the point of having 4 transistors in an H-Bridge?
i mean, wont i be able to reverse, foward and stop a motor using just two transistors?

InverseEggbot

Cool project shared on the Evil Mad Science blog:

Here's something we never thought of: John Fisher is using an EiBotBoard (EBB), a Raspberry PI and a camera to create "inverse panorama views" of cylindrical objects. It's a little bit like using an Eggbot as a scanner. His in-depth article covers everything from hardware set up to code.

Thanks eried and karlok. I've tried installing the enhanced IDE (solution 3) but it still says that there is a problem with installing the drivers because they are unsigned.

I admit I'm a bit reluctant to try 2 because the driver is a built-in Windows ...
